CASE HISTORY: GEVAC

General Europe Vacuum (GEVAC) is an Italian company ISO 9001:2008 certified with more than 20 years of experience in engineering and manufacturing a comprehensive range of oil less and lubricated vacuum pumps. Its manufacturing capacity includes products certified according to the ATEX standard and special vacuum applications for both the medical and the industrial sector.

GEVAC products are currently sold worldwide and are increasingly popular with various sector clients. To satisfy the growing number of global requests, GEVAC firstly signed several partnership agreements with dealers in the US and a couple of years ago, they established a new entity, GEV TURKEY to cover the Middle Eastern market.

 

In order to further expand internationally, the smart and logic choice for a technology based company like GEVAC is to approach a market rich with growing opportunities, in particular the Chinese market.

 

GEVAC and Poseidon China started discussing a potential cooperation in 2014 and in March 2015 the project took officially off with Poseidon China acting as GEVAC’s exclusive partner for Asia Pacific, with the support of its Shanghai team. The scope of the complete operational project was to establish a strong presence in the Chinese market for GEVAC and its products.

As first step, Poseidon China implemented a complete market study to determine GEVAC’s product positioning and then, acting according to the acquired data, proceeded to set up a comprehensive distribution network on the whole China territory though effective cooperation with regional and provincial vacuum pumps specialized dealers.

In October 2015 Poseidon China organized and supported GEVAC’s participation to PTC Asia, the most important Power Transmission and Control sector exhibition in the region. The event saw a great turnout of clients and dealers and produced many successful business leads.

As of December 2015 GEVAC is currently cooperating with more than 50 dealers in different Chinese provinces and is also discussing the possibility to establish exclusive dealership agreements with several of them, once they successfully complete the agreed trial period.

Proud of these results, GEVAC and Poseidon China aim in 2016 to achieve 1 Million RMB in orders from China.
